I chose Stuart Haygarth to focus on as I found his photos more interesting, and more appealing to the eye. I also found the concept of grouping items together by respectively colour and other categories, an interesting notion. Stuart Haygarth's category was the items he found when walking along the south of England, he used the rubbish he found to draw attention to pollution among the shores of England.
To start off with the first task, I chose the colour that I would focus on as pink; as I had variety of pink objects to mix and match to create a more interesting composition. I tried to choose a variety of objects to display my different and frequently contrasting interests.
For the second task, the interest I chose was Geology one of my main hobbies, I partially chose this because the vast majority of metals/fossils/crystals in my collection are grey, which assists with the appearance it also helps the more unique pieces of my extensive such as the amethyst geode stand out by contrast.
André Kertész
André Kertész, 'Fork', 1928
The photo by André Kertész "Fork" was taken in 1928, while he was in Paris the photo has an emotive charge to do it, as in Paris, Kertész felt like an outsider partially due to the fact that he didn't speak French or English very well. Kertész believed a photo should show an objects true nature, he did this by making the photo deliberately simple with focus placed on the composition.
In this task I was asked to respond to Kertész's image, "Fork".

Lockdown Sequence
The intention of this task is to show the progression of eating the chocolate bar.
W.W.W I think the editing of the photos went well, I was able to make good use of Snapseed. I also think that making the shadows with the torch went well.
E.B.I I wish that I had been able to have a better contrast between the light and dark.

Photojoiners
David Hockney is connected to the Pop Art movement. This movement was interested in responding to Popular Culture
Hockney has also created photojoiners. Photographs are taken of the same object from different perspectives. The images are then collaged to recreate the place, person or object even though they may look distorted. This work connects with the Cubist movement, one of Hockney's major aims.

I would say the second photo of the room was more successful, then the others. As the combination of the photos was the more successful then the other edits, I feel.
WWW: I believe the taking of the object photos went well.
EBI: The person object is severely distorted. While there were underlying factors involved (such as the wind), the fact still remains that the photo was badly constructed at best.

Ute Barth
Barth says that most photographers use the camera as a pointing device and that their images present the subject and content as the same thing by this she means that the subject matter of the photograph is the same as the meaning of it. She wants the viewer to become aware of their own visual process. Barth found that using a camera at school taught to become more observant how to see things in more detail. Barth's work often focused on the mundane everyday things.

Sundial
I was required to respond to the work of Uta Barth, by making work in her style. To achieve this, I tried to place the objects in the sunlight or as much as possible without endangering the objects.

W.W.W.The subject I chose to photograph suited the theme as it focuses on the shadow cast by the spheres. I think that I achieve a nice contrast between light and dark.
E.B.I I think in the photos I took inside, I should of tried more angles and should of improved upon the composition.

`Edward Weston
Weston used a Graflex camera, he used a Graflex because this allowed him to see the subject which he was photographing. Weston focused on precision. His photos has a accurate composition and had to be pleasing to his eye. One issue which Weston encountered while photographing the peppers was the lack of depth on F64, leading to him creating his own aperture F240, which has the approximate size of a pinhole. The size of the aperture meant a long exposure time was required, 4-6 hours with the pepper photos. The long exposure created an almost luminous effect as the light moved over the time period in which the photograph was taken.

WWW: I think that I created a strong contrast between light and dark.
EBI: I believe that I should of tried to prioritise light more. My body was actually blocking the light, which I believe lessened the effect of contrast in some of my earlier photos.

Artificial Light:
In this part of the task I was required to respond to Edward Weston this time using artificial light. I was also expected to apply what I had learnt from natural light photos. what I learnt was to experiment with angles and composition, I also learnt to ensure that there was nothing blocking the light.

WWW: I think that I managed to focus on the detail of the fruits quite well..
EBI: I believe that I should of tried to prioritise the contrast more. Doing the photos at home meant it was difficult to create a sharper contrast with the lighting.

Adam Hillman
For the this task I was required to respond to Hillman's work. Hillman utilised common objects such as cotton buds, pins and positioned them in mesmerising patterns.
Above is a example of his work. Below are my attempts.
Here are the photos that I was most pleased with, edited.
WWW: I believe that I used a variety of colours similar to Hillman's work.
EBI: It's not a sufficiently detailed pattern, as to more closely replicate Hillman's work.
